Clinical Service Manager

Stephen James Consulting are partnering with one of our Mental Health clients, in seeking an experienced Clinical Service Manager (RMN / RGN / RNLD) to lead a purpose-built service in Lancing, West Sussex (BN15 8AJ). This small service focuses on specific care needs. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a modern, purpose-built home and lead a team that makes a real difference to people with complex needs. The home provides high-acuity, nurse-led care for adults with complex needs, including: • Severe and enduring mental health conditions • Neuro-disabilities • Complex dementia and co-morbidities • Individuals with mixed diagnoses or a history of unsuccessful placements This is an exceptional opportunity to join a forward-thinking provider at an early stage, helping shape the service, build a strong clinical team, and ensure the highest standards of care. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee the day-to-day running of a specialist nursing service • Lead, inspire, and develop a multidisciplinary clinical team • Deliver safe, person-centred care aligned with CQC standards • Manage referrals, occupancy, and commissioner relationships • Ensure effective financial, clinical, and operational oversight • Champion a culture of improvement, integrity, and collaboration To be shortlisted for the role of Clinical Service Manager, you will need: • Nurse qualified with a valid NMC PIN (essential) • At least 2–3 years’ experience as a Registered Manager in a care or hospital setting • Strong leadership and team management skills • Background in complex care, neuro, or mental health services • Excellent communication skills with commissioners, families, and professionals • Skilled in CQC compliance, governance, and quality improvement This is an outstanding time to join an expanding, well-backed Mental Health care provider.
