Mechanical Service Engineer - Heavy Industry Location: Brentwood area (mostly local travel) Salary: £40,000 - £47,000 Bonus Overtime Benefits Job Type: Full-time, Permanent A leading engineering services company supporting the Energy, Utilities, Refinery, and Aggregates sectors is seeking an experienced Mechanical Service Engineer. This is a hands-on field service role with 90% of work within an hour's commute of Brentwood. What's on Offer: £40,000 - £47,000 (depending on experience) annual bonus Extra payments for travel and overnight stays uncapped overtime Van, fuel card, tools, PPE, laptop, and phone 28 days holiday bank holidays Private healthcare and government pension Key Responsibilities: Service, repair, and overhaul of rotating equipment (pumps, turbines, BOP systems) Carry out fault diagnosis, inspections, and detailed reporting Use precision tools for alignment and measurement tasks Support planned outages and maintenance projects (field & workshop) Participate in a 1-in-5 on-call rota and occasional UK travel Requirements: ONC/HNC/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent Strong background in installation, maintenance, and commissioning Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills Full UK driving licence and ability to pass security checks Physically fit and able to work independently Preferred: Experience in heavy industry, power generation, or OEM rotating equipment.
