Council Tax Officer

Council Tax Officer Temporary on going role 37 hours per week £24.00 per hour We're seeking a proactive and experienced Council Tax Officer to join our dynamic team for a 3-month assignment. This role is heavily focused on telephone-based customer interaction, supporting residents with Council Tax billing, registration, and the application of discounts and exemptions in line with current legislation. Key Responsibilities: Handle a high volume of inbound calls relating to Council Tax queries Accurately register new accounts and apply relevant discounts and exemptions Ensure compliance with all applicable Council Tax legislation Maintain detailed records and update MRI/Academy system accordingly What You'll Need: Proven experience as a Council Tax Officer Strong working knowledge of Council Tax legislation Confident telephone manner and excellent communication skills Experience using the Academy IT systemThis is a fast-paced role ideal for someone who thrives on phone-based work and enjoys helping people navigate complex information with clarity and empathy
