Social Worker

Supervising Social Worker (SSW) within the Fostering sector required in Basildon, Essex. This is a full time opportunity, offering an immediate start. You will be responsible for the recruitment, assessment, supervision and development of your team within the fostering sector. Main duties & responsibilities: * Regular supervision visits * Maintenance of full recording of contacts and visits * To advise and liaise with your team * Take account of cultural, ethnic, linguistic backgrounds and religious persuasions * Attend statutory reviews * Ensure that statutory Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards are adhered to * Attend team meetings Ideally we are looking for a candidate with the relevant professional qualification in social work - CQSW, CSS, DipSW, BA in Social Work, together with valid Social Work England registration plus at least two years post qualification experience. You will need to have: * An understanding of fostering and the needs of looked after children * Knowledge of child care legislation * Sound knowledge of fostering legislation and practice * A good knowledge of child protection and safeguarding Due to the nature of this opportunity, out of hours and a on-call rota will be necessary
