Controller - Hybrid - Ville Saint-Laurent

Position: Controller Location: Ville Saint-Laurent - HybridWe are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Corporate Controller to lead and manage the financial operations of our growing organization. Based in Montreal, this critical leadership role is responsible for the full accounting cycle, financial reporting, tax compliance, treasury, payroll, benefits administration, budgeting, and audit coordination across both Canadian and select international entities.As a key member of the finance leadership team, you will ensure robust financial management, maintain internal controls, and deliver timely and accurate reporting to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment. Strong technical accounting skills, NetSuite ERP expertise, and a proactive leadership approach are essential for success in this role.Key Responsibilities:Financial Management & Reporting:- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including month-end and year-end close processes.- Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and ensure timely journal entries.- Prepare accurate and compliant financial statements under ASPE or IFRS.- Manage consolidated reporting across Canadian headquarters and international subsidiaries.- Lead and optimize internal accounting controls and policies.- Reconcile intercompany transactions and ensure alignment across entities.- Supervise A/P and A/R functions and provide support for complex accounting projects.- Administer Canadian payroll, ensuring compliance with federal and provincial (Quebec) regulations.- Manage all indirect tax filings (GST/QST, VAT) and coordinate with external advisors on corporate tax compliance.- Lead the year-end audit for Canadian operations and support international audits.Budgeting & Forecasting:- Lead the annual budgeting process and develop rolling forecasts.- Conduct variance analysis and present financial insights to senior leadership.- Support cash flow and treasury management initiatives.What We're Looking For:Qualifications:- CPA designation (mandatory).- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, including 4 years in a Controller or senior leadership role.- Strong hands-on NetSuite ERP experience is required.- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the broader Microsoft Office Suite.- Knowledge of Canadian payroll standards and Quebec-specific legislation.- Experience with group benefits and RRSP administration.- Familiarity with international VAT and subsidiary reporting is an asset.- Background in distribution, retail, or accounting firms is an asset.Key Competencies:- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong sense of accountability.- Strong organizational and analytical skills.- Confident communicator with the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities.- Strategic mindset with hands-on execution capability.What We Offer:- Competitive compensation package including annual bonus.- Comprehensive group benefits and RRSP matching.- A collaborative, supportive, and growth-focused work environment.- Modern, centrally located Montreal office with on-site gym (in-office 4 days/week).- Opportunities for career advancement within a growing and stable company.Ready to Join Us?If you're a strategic thinker with strong operational finance experience and a passion for leading high-performing teams, we'd love to hear from you.
