If you're ready to take on a dynamic, cross-border role with visibility and impact, we want to hear from you.About the Role:As our assistant controller, you'll play a critical role in managing the financial health of the organization. You will oversee monthly closings, financial reporting, budgeting, audits, and tax compliance for all operating entities in the U.S. and Canada. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and external partners, shaping the financial foundation of a fast-paced, growth-oriented company.Key Responsibilities:Financial Reporting & Analysis:- Prepare and consolidate financial statements for all operating entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP and Canadian accounting standards.- Conduct variance analysis and deliver detailed financial reports to senior management.Month-End Close & Budgeting:- Lead month-end closing activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and internal reporting.- Prepare and review budgets in alignment with company goals and financial forecasts.Audit Preparation & Coordination:- Compile audit files and serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors.- Ensure audit readiness and compliance for both U.S. and Canadian entities.Tax Compliance & Filing:- Collaborate with external tax advisors and auditors to prepare and file corporate tax returns.- Manage timely and accurate filings for corporate income tax, sales tax, and other relevant requirements.- Stay up to date with evolving tax laws and implications relevant to the construction industry in both countries.Cross-Border Accounting:- Oversee financial operations and reporting across U.S. and Canadian entities.- Ensure seamless integration of financial data and compliance across jurisdictions.What We're Looking For:Education & Credentials:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.- CPA designation strongly preferred.- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, including financial reporting, audits, and tax compliance.- Experience in construction or real estate industries and working with U.S./Canadian operations is highly desirable.Technical & Soft Skills:- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.Please send your resume in Word format to Milene Rizcalla at mrizcalla@quantum.ca.REFER A PERM HIRE AND EARN UP TO $1,000!
