Job Description

I am looking for a payroll specialist for my client located in the East End of the Island, working 37.5 hours/week on a hybrid schedule.Main responsibilities:Complete payroll cycle managementManage the entire payroll cycle for all employees, whether hourly or salaried, on a 26-payroll basis. This responsibility includes:Compiling, processing, and verifying all data required for payroll production, including hours worked, absences, vacations, bonuses, and commissions, using the time management system;Transmitting payroll data within the required timeframe;Ensuring compliance of the entire payroll cycle with applicable tax laws, labor standards, and employee handbooks;Opening and closing payroll files;Maintain all data impacting payroll (salary changes, insurance rates, voluntary deductions, additional taxes, new banks, etc.) up to date.Administrative and Legal Payroll Management:Perform compliant, rigorous, and confidential management of administrative and legal payroll-related elements, including:Ensure the rigorous processing of alimony, wage garnishments, records of employment, salary increases, departures, and special leaves;Verify the accuracy of source deductions and remittances to various government agencies;Prepare year-end legal documents (T4, Relevé 1, RRSP, CNESST, government reports) as well as the annual declaration of salaries and training activities;Respond to requests for information or investigations from government agencies (e.g., Employment Insurance, Revenu Québec, CRA).Benefits Management and Employee Handbook Implementation:Administer vacation, statutory holidays, sick leave, floating leave, parental leave, bonuses, and various allowances in accordance with internal policies;Manage various leave banks and ensure their rigorous monitoring;Collaborate with the Human Resources team to receive the necessary data (absences, leaves, new hires, terminations, legal contracts, etc.);Validate invoices related to group insurance, RRSPs, pension plans, and other benefit programs;Participate in meetings with benefit providers, in conjunction with the HR team.Reporting and Accounting Compliance;Produce reports and accounting entries required for financial monitoring and compliance:Calculate monthly commissions;Prepare payroll-related accounting entries, including accruals, and participate in month-end processes;Reconcile various GL accounts related to payroll, including vacation banks, group insurance, etc., on a monthly basis;Produce analysis reports for the relevant departments (finance, HR, general management) at the end of each month;Participate in the integration of payroll for future acquisitions;Participate in year-end audits by providing the required reports and documents;Support and Continuous ImprovementWork closely with Human Resources to ensure optimal coordination:Act as a resource person for payroll-related questions and resolve issues within their area of ​​responsibility;Participate in the continuous improvement of payroll-related processes and tools to optimize efficiency, rigor, and compliance.All other related tasks.Profil recherché (en)Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP); (required)Bilingual (required)In-depth knowledge of labor laws and payroll standards in Quebec and other Canadian provinces (required);Proficiency with advanced payroll software such as EmployeurD/Nethris, Dayforce, ADP (required);Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including an advanced level of Excel (required);Minimum of 5 years of similar experience in payroll processing, ideally in a multi-company, multi-province environment (required);Proficiency with an ERP system (required)Knowledge of Microsoft AX (major asset)Degree in administration, accounting, or a related field (major asset);Autonomy and rigorDiscretion and a high sense of confidentiality;Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Working conditions:Permanent, full-time position;Workplace: Office located in Montreal, in the Rosemont area;Hybrid mode: 3 days in person, 2 days working remotely;Competitive salary and full range of benefits.
