DRIVER/DELIVERY PERSON

We are actively seeking a driver/delivery person for our client, a leading manufacturer of custom doors and windows. Role and missionReporting to the dispatcher, the driver/delivery person transports finished products and loads and unloads them at customer sites, in accordance with safety rules and company guidelines. Responsibilities - Deliver products to customers- Unload trucks with the help of the delivery assistant or the customer at the customer's premises or construction site- Perform daily safety checks on the truck (RDS mandatory)- Fill out route sheets, log books, and weekly reports- Comply with traffic safety regulations and mandatory breaks- Have delivery slips signed and provide impeccable customer service- Maintain the truck and keep it clean- Report any mechanical defects- Represent the company professionally to customers Requirements- Valid Class 1 driver's license- At least 2 years of experience as a delivery driver (an asset)- Excellent driving record- Good physical condition and ability to handle fairly heavy loads- Ability to remain seated for several hours- Availability for overtime and variable hours- Mobility for travel to different regions- Understanding of safe loading, securing, and unloading procedures- Knowledge of the regions served, routes, and map/GPS reading- Proficiency with transportation documents: delivery slips, route sheets, log books- Ability to plan trips efficiently to meet deadlines- Ability to perform daily vehicle checks and complete required reportsAbility to manage transportation documentation and report any anomalies.-Ability to interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.Interpersonal skills (Attitudes and behaviors)-Reliability and punctuality: adhere to schedules and commitments.-Service-oriented: courteous and highly customer-service oriented.- Independence and resourcefulness: ability to resolve unexpected situations on the road.- Patience and calm: manage stress caused by traffic or delays.
