Position : 177800 Expected Start Date: May 15, 2025 Union: SUN Facility: Watrous District Health Complex City/Town: Watrous Department: Primary Care Sites Type: Full-time temporary Expected Up to Date: April 18, 2026 FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days, Evenings Hours of Work: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse Practitioner $52.590 to $62.910 Travel Required: No Job Description: The Primary Health Nurse Practitioner RN(NP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing with the legal authority and autonomy to order diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals and perform specific procedures in the management and treatment of common acute illnesses and stable chronic conditions. The RN(NP) practices within a framework of evidence-based primary care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The practice involves building partnerships with individuals, families, and communities. This includes community needs assessments; supporting inter-professional collaboration; and participating in continuous improvements through evaluative processes/projects. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Experience in community needs assessment/development, health promotion Two years (2) full-time experience working in an advanced RN(NP) role Three years fulltime experience as a Registered Nurse Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Other Education and Training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Competencies Basic - Communication skills to transfer knowledge/skills Advanced - Leadership skills Advanced - Research skills Basic - Decision making skills Advanced - Communication skills Advanced - Problem solving skills Advanced - Facilitation skills Advanced - Organizational skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to work independently Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Knowledge in diverse cultures, values and traditions Ability to develop and deliver formal education programs Other Information Travel within Saskatchewan Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) One (1) year nursing experience in a primary health care setting preferred Watrous is located approximately 117 km southeast of Saskatoon Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP) For more information on the town of Watrous please visit http://townofwatrous.com/
