Position : 171578 Expected Start Date: November 10, 2025 Union: SUN Facility: McIntosh Building City/Town: Prince Albert Department: Public Health Nursing Type: Part-time temporary Expected Up to Date: December 11, 2026 FTE: 0.5 Hours of Work: 56 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse B $42.040 to $52.440 Travel Required: Yes Job Description: A Public Health Nurse (PHN) is accountable for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the health and health risks for people living in Prince Albert Parkland Health Region. A PHN's scope of practice requires a broad knowledge base and autonomous decision-making skills. A PHN also provides consultation and support to a wide array of professionals in the community. The Public Health Nurse works under the direction of the Manager of Public Health Nursing. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a public health nurse Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses Registered Nurse (RN) Valid Class 5 driver's license Competencies Intermediate - Interpersonal skills Intermediate - Assessment skills Advanced - Communication skills Knowledge and Abilities Working knowledge in health promotion Knowledge in growth and development of newborns/children/adolescents/adults Ability to adapt to changing conditions Knowledge in immunology and biologicals used for immunizations Ability to manage anaphylaxis and immunization administration Knowledge in community health nursing theory and principles Ability to competently use computers and software applications Knowledge in community health and public health concepts Other Information For more information on the town of Spiritwood please visit http://townofspiritwood.ca/ Registered/eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS) Spiritwood is located approximately 126 km west of Prince Albert May be eligible for Recruitment and/or Retention Incentives Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
