About the role As a SDET Engineer, you’ll take ownership of building and driving a modern testing culture from the ground up. This role goes beyond traditional QA — you’ll design and evolve automated testing frameworks, guide developers in adopting a shift-left approach, and ensure quality is integrated throughout the entire development lifecycle. By combining your Python expertise with a passion for testing excellence, you’ll play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable software that makes an impact. What you will do Become the first SDET in the team and define how we approach testing; Drive the testing infrastructure and ensure high-quality standards across our product; Mentor and support developers to take ownership of their own testing; Collaborate closely with engineers to co-own and write automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end, performance); Promote a “shift-left” QA mindset, embedding testing throughout the development process rather than leaving it as a final stage; Continuously improve our testing practices, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and reliability. MUST HAVES Strong experience of at least 4 years as a Python engineer (building production systems); Proven track record designing and implementing automated testing frameworks ; Hands-on experience with unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance/load testing; Product-focused mindset with curiosity about the bigger picture; Proactive, takes ownership, and responsible for outcomes; Bias for action: able to quickly test, iterate, and make decisions without getting stuck; Scrappy mindset: focus on delivering business value over unnecessary perfection; Ability to thrive in a fully remote, collaborative environment with honesty and radical candor; Full overlap with Eastern European Time or at least 6 hours; Upper-Intermediate English level. NICE TO HAVES Experience with Python web frameworks (Django, FastAPI); Frontend experience (testing approaches and frameworks such as Vue.js or React); Early-stage startup experience; Experience building with LLMs or agentic AI systems; Leadership experience.
