ABOUT THE ROLE As a SDET Engineer, you’ll take ownership of building and driving a modern testing culture from the ground up. This role goes beyond traditional QA — you’ll design and evolve automated testing frameworks, guide developers in adopting a shift‑left approach, and ensure quality is integrated throughout the entire development lifecycle. By combining your Python expertise with a passion for testing excellence, you’ll play a key role in delivering reliable, scalable software that makes an impact. WHAT YOU WILL DO Become the first SDET in the team and define how we approach testing Drive the testing infrastructure and ensure high‑quality standards across our product Mentor and support developers to take ownership of their own testing Collaborate closely with engineers to co‑own and write automated tests (unit, integration, end‑to‑end, performance) Promote a “shift‑left” QA mindset, embedding testing throughout the development process rather than leaving it as a final stage Continuously improve our testing practices, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and reliability MUST HAVES Strong experience of at least 4 years as a Python engineer (building production systems) Proven track record designing and implementing automated testing frameworks Hands‑on experience with unit, integration, end‑to‑end, and performance/load testing Product‑focused mindset with curiosity about the bigger picture Proactive, takes ownership, and responsible for outcomes Bias for action: able to quickly test, iterate, and make decisions without getting stuck Scrappy mindset: focus on delivering business value over unnecessary perfection Ability to thrive in a fully remote, collaborative environment with honesty and radical candor Full overlap with Eastern European Time or at least 6 hours of overlap Upper‑Intermediate English level NICE TO HAVES Experience with Python web frameworks (Django, FastAPI) Frontend experience (testing approaches and frameworks such as Vue.js or React) Early‑stage startup experience Experience building with LLMs or agentic AI systems Leadership experience PERKS AND BENEFITS Professional growth: Accelerate your professional journey with mentorship, TechTalks, and personalized growth roadmaps.
