Software Engineer III, Fullstack, QuickPack (Remote) Overview Shippo is the shipping layer of the internet and a core building block of e‑commerce. This is a remote‑friendly, globally distributed team opportunity. Responsibilities Translate complex requirements into elegant, performant features and products. Build end‑to‑end solutions spanning APIs, services, databases, and modern UIs. Deliver robust, well‑tested code and own features from design through production. Contribute reusable components that improve product consistency and scalability. Participate in architectural discussions and technical breakdowns. Provide technical insights in planning and reviews to streamline delivery and support QA with stronger test automation. Participate in on‑call rotation and respond quickly to incidents. Implement telemetry and tools to analyze user behavior, technical impact, and business outcomes. Qualifications 4 years of software development experience, including building and maintaining distributed systems. Experience across backend and frontend development. Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript. Strong experience with modern UI frameworks such as React (hooks, context API), libraries such as Redux, TanStack Query, and MUI, and testing frameworks including Jest, Testing Library, and Playwright. Familiarity with server‑side programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, or Ruby, and microservice frameworks such as FastAPI or RESTful services. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. Solid understanding of software design principles, OOP, and design patterns. Ability to debug and optimize full‑stack applications for performance and scalability. Strong collaboration and communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams. Passion for user‑friendly, reliable applications and a mindset of continuous learning. BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). Advanced English proficiency. Bonus: Experience in shipping or logistics, API integration (REST, GraphQL, gRPC). Bonus: Familiarity with Django.
