Position : 174627 Expected Start Date: November 24, 2025 Union: HSAS Facility: Leader and District Integrated Healthcare Facility City/Town: Leader Department: Ambulance - Land Type: Part-time regular FTE: 0.75 Shift Information: Days, Evenings, Weekends, Standby Hours of Work: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 4 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: No Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Emergency Medical Technician $29.909 to $36.572 Travel Required: No Job Description: Reporting to the Southwest EMS Operations Manager the Emergency Medical Technician - Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) is responsible for responding to emergent and non-emergent EMS calls for service; and for providing initial assessment, treatment, stabilization and transport of ill or injured persons at the Basic Life Support level. The PCP will provide care with strict adherence to: Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) core values, policies, and work standards; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Paramedic Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and SCoP Regulatory and Administrative Bylaws; and The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement" Human Resources Exemption: No Education Primary Care Paramedic diploma (PCP) Licenses Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) Automated External Defibrillator Certificate (AED) International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training CMA accredited Pre-hospital Care Program-EMR Competencies Intermediate - Conflict resolution skills Advanced - Interpersonal skills Advanced - Listening skills Knowledge and Abilities Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Decision making through the application of clinical, legal & ethical practice Knowledge of EMS Practitioners legislation/protocols/scope of practice Physical ability to perform the duties of the position Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System.
