Job Description

Enable innovation outcome and scale across the Group by supporting OpCos/Associates in their innovation process of sensing, experimentation and adoption, through cross-group sharing, synergy and scale. Develop and maintain Group Innovation Strategy. Setup Group-wide innovation programs to deliver innovation outcome and scale. Drive ideation, knowledge and best practices sharing. Drive external and stakeholder communication of innovation success across the Group, positioning the Singtel Group as an innovation thought leader. Develop partner ecosystem of leading technology vendors, SDOs and IHLs to catalyze innovation. The Senior Director, Future Technology Development works with various teams across the organisation. He/she is knowledgeable of new and emerging technology and industry trends. He/she adopts a global mindset and integrates trends and knowledge from varying sources to chart a compelling vision for the future of innovation. RAN architect Demonstrate advanced expertise in current and emerging RAN technologies within leading telecommunications operators, focusing on: Comprehensive knowledge of 4G, 5G, and 5G-A RAN architectures Full lifecycle experience: evaluation, piloting, and network integration In-depth understanding of Advanced Antenna & Radio Systems (AAU, RRU, BBU) and their network interactions KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS Responsible for formulating Group innovation strategy, framework and processes. Responsible for running the Group Innovation Strategy and Program Office to facilitate the running of Group innovation framework and processes and to orchestrate various innovation programs and initiatives. Responsible for establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the implementation and monitoring of Innovation initiatives. Responsible for leading the evaluation of new technologies and industry initiatives that emerge. Responsible for liaison with technology vendors to gather info and views. Responsible for engagement with BU SMEs to assess new technologies. Responsible for leading Group innovation initiatives. Responsible for running innovation initiatives to meet their outcomes. Responsible for the coordination, setting up and maintenance of innovation labs, trials and proof-of-concepts (POC). Responsible for engagements with Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) such as GSMA, TM Forum, ORAN-Alliance. Responsible for liaison and engagements with SDOs to drive standards and innovations. Responsible for engagement with BU SMEs and coordinating Standards work and engagement across the Group. Responsible for developing strategic technology partnerships and alliances with vendors, operators, academia, SDOs, R&D bodies. Responsible for liaison and engagements with partners through MOU agreements and strategic innovation programs to develop innovations. Responsible for coordinating partnership work and engagement across the Group to drive partnership outcomes. Responsible for developing AOP plans in the area of future technology development. Responsible for budgeting for any initiatives, trials, POC and labs relating to the development of innovations. RAN architect Ensures seamless adoption and optimal performance of cutting-edge RAN systems. Lead technical evaluation and deployment strategies for: O-RAN, Cloud/Virtual RAN, and AI-RAN technologies Utilize advanced AI systems to assess and enhance RAN innovation The outcomes include, Identifying and integrating transformative technologies, maximizing network efficiency, scalability, and differentiation. Provide strategic leadership in radio network planning with a strong operational background, including: Guidance on best practices for network capacity, coverage, and user experience Oversight of the entire radio network planning lifecycle, from long-term strategic planning to annual tactical execution Alignment with evolving spectrum policies, RAN technologies, and business trends The outcomes include sustaining competitive network performance and anticipating future user and business needs. Demonstrate expertise in spectrum development and regulatory affairs, including: Active participation in national and international telecommunications policy development Deep understanding of WRC processes and ITU-R standards Strategic advice on future spectrum requirements and new spectrum allocation impacts Engagement in regulatory consultations and policy shaping The outcomes include securing long-term spectrum access, drives policy influence, and supports sustainable growth for Singtel.
