Job Description Job Description Maintenance Operator Cranston, RI 02910 Temp-to-Perm Summary We are seeking a Maintenance Operator to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment. This role focuses on electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and calibration duties to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment. Responsibilities Calibration & Instrumentation Perform calibrations, accuracy checks, and temperature surveys on process control instruments (temperature controllers, vacuum controllers, timers). Check processing gas purity with dew point meters; record all results in logs/software. Correct out-of-tolerance conditions in coordination with Quality and retest for compliance. Maintain thermocouple sensor and wire inventory; request supplies as needed. Complete preventative maintenance per schedule. Repair and replace control instruments and facility operation devices. Install electrical equipment, wiring, and fixtures. Work with PLCs; knowledge of PLC codes/functions is a plus. Perform general and preventative maintenance on production and support equipment. Inspect and dismantle machinery/equipment to repair defective parts. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, pulleys, and other machine components. Repair and maintain gauges, valves, regulators, and plumbing equipment. Additional Duties Equipment Operation: Safely operate assigned production/pilot heat treatment equipment, such as furnaces, ovens, or thermal processing machines. Process Monitoring & Control: Monitor process parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure, time) to ensure compliance with specified thermal profiles and quality standards. Documentation: Accurately record process data, production logs, and quality control information, often using spreadsheets or specialized software. Material Handling: Load and unload parts or materials into the processing equipment, potentially using forklifts or hoists. Quality Checks: Perform in-process quality inspections and tests on processed materials to ensure they meet engineering specifications.
