Service Maintenance Engineer - UK & Ireland Location: Milton Keynes (with extensive travel across UK & Ireland, occasional travel to mainland Europe) Full-time | Field-based | Permanent Are you a hands-on electrical engineer with a passion for problem-solving and a knack for keeping critical systems running smoothly? We're looking for a Service Maintenance Engineer to join our dynamic team, delivering high-quality technical support and maintenance across the UK and Ireland. What You'll Be Doing Perform on-site planned and reactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of battery monitoring systems. Lead installations and commissioning of battery monitoring equipment, ensuring safety and quality compliance. Manage maintenance schedules and identify opportunities for system upgrades and process improvements. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement. Train customers on equipment usage and safety protocols. Maintain detailed records of service activities, inventory, and equipment logs. Support project-based work, offering technical insight and problem-solving expertise. What You'll Bring 3-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within critical facilities, data centres, or UPS/battery environments. Strong knowledge of DC power systems and standby battery infrastructure. Proven ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues under pressure. Familiarity with health & safety regulations and environmental compliance. Electrical engineering background with relevant certifications (ECS/CSCS card, BPSS/SC/DV clearance preferred). Full UK driving licence and ability to pass a CRB check. Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Travel & Location Based out of Milton Keynes office. Up to 95% travel across UK and Ireland with frequent overnight stays. Occasional travel to mainland Europe.
