Public M&A Associate (2–5 PQE) – Leading International Law Firm Are you a talented associate with 2–5 years’ PQE, looking to join a top-tier Public M&A team in London? This is a rare opportunity to work on high-profile public takeovers, corporate finance transactions, and strategic advisory mandates for corporates, investment banks, and sponsors. About the Team: Our client’s Corporate Transactions team is internationally recognised for its expertise in public and private M&A, equity capital markets, and corporate finance. The London Public M&A team is at the forefront of the UK market, advising on landmark deals and strategic corporate matters for major clients across sectors including energy, infrastructure, financial services, insurance, healthcare, and real estate. Recent mandates include: Advising on a major UK insurer’s offer for a FTSE 250 company Acting for a leading waste management group on its proposed takeover by a global asset manager Advising on a competitive takeover process for a listed logistics company Advising a premium drinks brand on its acquisition of a listed distillery The Role: You will: Draft and negotiate transaction documents (offer announcements, scheme documents, SPAs) Lead and manage due diligence processes on both buy- and sell-side mandates Coordinate multi-disciplinary and cross-border deal teams Provide strategic advice on the UK Takeover Code and corporate governance matters Contribute to business development, know-how, and training initiatives Mentor junior lawyers and foster a collaborative team culture About You: 2–5 years’ PQE in corporate transactions, ideally with public M&A and UK listed company experience Technically excellent, commercially minded, and confident in negotiations Strong drafting and analytical skills, with attention to detail Proactive team player with a collaborative mindset Experience managing complex transactions and client relationships Enthusiastic about contributing to a high-performing and inclusive team Career Development: The firm offers a clear career path with defined expectations and promotion opportunities.
