The Opportunity As a Bridging Underwriter , you’ll manage your own portfolio of bridging finance cases from application through to completion — driving deals forward, ensuring quality underwriting, and maintaining strong relationships across all stakeholders. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to brokers and clients while safeguarding lending quality and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Own and manage the full lending process from initial enquiry through to drawdown. Underwrite a live pipeline of bridging cases, balancing speed, accuracy, and risk management. Ensure every case aligns with internal lending criteria and regulatory standards. Liaise effectively with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth process. Instruct solicitors post-offer and oversee documentation to completion. Apply sound commercial judgment, identifying opportunities to add value while managing risk. Support a collaborative, solutions-driven team culture. About You You’ll bring: Proven experience underwriting bridging and/or development finance cases. In-depth understanding of FCA regulation and responsible lending principles (CeMAP desirable). Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional time management. Confident communication skills — able to challenge, influence, and problem-solve effectively. A calm, resilient approach with the ability to perform under pressure.
