Manufacturing Test Engineer

Dynamic (hybrid) working : 5 days per week on-site due to workload classification Security Clearance : British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British Location : Bolton Copello are supporting a leading Defence organisation in their search for a Test Engineer to join their Manufacturing team. In this role, you’ll support the testing and diagnostics of electrical/electronic sub-systems and circuit cards throughout the full product lifecycle. Your work will ensure programmes meet agreed targets for time, cost, and quality. What you’ll do Provide test engineering support from concept and design through to production readiness and release to operations. Help introduce and set up test facilities, ensuring equipment is correctly configured and controlled before use. Create and maintain test specifications and operator instructions. Carry out testing of electronic sub-assemblies and circuit cards, diagnosing issues down to component level. Work closely with operations, design teams, and other stakeholders to resolve technical challenges. Ensure all testing meets programme and quality requirements, while contributing to continuous improvement. What we're looking for from you: Minimum HNC level of qualification or equivalent in a relevant subject (HND/Degree preferred) plus experience in digital and analogue electronics manufacture and test. A good understanding of electrical/electronic measurement and test principles and test equipment, as well as fault diagnosis techniques for electronic/electro-mechanical sub-assemblies. Experience of using both manual and automated test equipment, preferably in a defence organisation or similar manufacturing environment. Familiar with enterprise resource planning and manufacturing execution system programs (e.g. SAP, MES) for recording test activities and generating non-conformance reports and concessions.
