About the Role Reporting to the Billing Manager, the Revenue Protection Lead will be responsible for overseeing all Revenue Protection activities within the Billing Department (Electricity). This role involves strategic oversight, leadership of the Revenue Protection Officers, and ensuring robust processes are in place to minimise revenue leakage. The post holder will play a critical role in safeguarding company revenue, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement in billing assurance practices. Supporting the companys mission of supplying first class customer experience for homes and businesses, you will develop working practices that provide best-practice solutions for the company and customer, to make firmus energy the supplier of choice. Be responsible for the delivery of all revenue protection activities, ensuring the business is protected from error and fraud. Lead the Revenue Protection function, providing guidance and oversight to Revenue Protection Officers across all activities including no vend reporting, top up history analysis, lead management and shadow billing Develop and implement strategic plans to identify and mitigate revenue risks. Ensure compliance with legal, licence, and commercial requirements across all Revenue Protection activities. Conduct high-level analysis of consumer electricity usage and metering data to identify anomalies. Coordinate with the credit control department to identify and assist in the recovery of debt in line with company policy. Monitor industry developments and gather intelligence to inform investigations. Drive system improvements and support business change initiatives. Manage complex claims and disputes, including small claims applications and court attendance. Provide regular reporting to senior management on Revenue Protection performance and risks. Skills & Experience Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) including English & Maths. Proven leadership experience in a billing, compliance, or revenue assurance environment in the electricity sector. Excellent communication skills for internal and external engagement. Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and reporting. Advanced IT skills, particularly in Excel and billing systems. Desirable Previous experience in customer-focused financial roles Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
