Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant - Full-Time, Permanent Location: Belfast Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 We are seeking a capable and well-rounded Assistant Accountant to join an established finance team, which consists of five members within this part of the wider group of companies. This is a permanent, full-time position reporting directly to the Group Finance Manager. The role offers comprehensive exposure across the finance function and is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage month-end and year-end close processes Perform bank reconciliations in both GBP and EUR Prepare and post journals, including accruals and prepayments Maintain and reconcile sales and purchase ledgers Handle VAT and RCT submissions and compliance Produce accounts to trial balance, including work-in-progress (WIP) and prepayments Support internal reporting and assist with ad hoc financial analysis Essential Skills and Experience: Proven experience using Sage 50 and Sage Payroll (this is a mandatory requirement) Strong understanding of accounting principles and processes Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and formula creation Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites Excellent attention to detail and time management skills On Offer: Competitive salary between £34,000 and £38,000, depending on experience Free on-site parking A broad finance role offering exposure to all aspects of the accounting cycle Supportive team environment with opportunities to learn through practical experience This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys variety and is looking to deepen their expertise in a dynamic and collaborative setting.
