The Role This newly created position reflects both the growth of the team and the increasing volume of complex, cross-border matters. The successful candidate will work closely with senior lawyers on a wide range of competition and regulatory issues, with a particular focus on: Merger control and foreign direct investment (FDI) analysis for private equity transactions Multi-jurisdictional filings (UK, EU, US) Regulatory clearances for cross-border M&A Antitrust investigations and compliance Supporting litigation teams on competition-related disputes The team is involved throughout the lifecycle of a transaction, offering a dynamic and varied workload. While the focus is transactional, there is also scope to be involved in investigations and litigation support. The role offers significant client exposure, autonomy on smaller matters, and the opportunity to contribute to business development. What They’re Looking For 5–6PQE, ideally UK qualified (though strong EU or commonwealth qualified candidates will be considered) Experience in merger control, FDI, and transactional competition work Exposure to private equity is helpful but not essential – a commercial mindset and willingness to learn are key Candidates from firms with a mix of competition litigation and transactional work are welcome, provided they are keen to focus on deals Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach Why Apply?
