Job Description
Commissioning Manager Location: Office / Site (60% / 40%) – Hertfordshire / London Salary: £65,000–£70,000 plus £5,000 car allowance We are working exclusively with a leading UK construction and refurbishment specialist to recruit an experienced Commissioning Manager. This hands-on role involves leading commissioning on complex refurbishment and M&E upgrade projects, often within live hospital environments. Key Responsibilities Lead all commissioning activities for building services and specialist systems Manage commissioning of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems in line with HTM, SFG20, and project-specific standards Coordinate with design teams, M&E subcontractors, and client representatives Lead commissioning meetings, witness testing, and manage snagging and defect resolution Ensure compliance with CDM, health and safety, and infection control protocols on live sites Oversee commissioning documentation, including pre-commissioning checklists, test sheets, O&M manuals, and certifications Key Requirements Proven commissioning management experience in UK construction, ideally healthcare or hospital projects Strong knowledge of M&E systems, HTMs, CIBSE, and BSRIA guidance Experience in live or occupied environments with infection control awareness Relevant qualifications in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management SMSTS, CSCS, and health and safety training preferred Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites nationwide What is on Offer Competitive salary of £65,000–£70,000 plus £5,000 car allowance Pension and benefits package Career progression within a growing company Exposure to technically challenging, high-impact projects
