Job Description Job Description Employment Type: Full-Time FSLA: Salary/Exempt Division: Riggs Department: Safety Reports to: Corporate Safety Director Supervisory Duties: Yes The Safety Manager- Self Perform is responsible assisting in developing, implementing, and maintaining the company’s safety program across all job sites in the Northeast Region. This role ensures compliance with CCC, and all regulatory safety requirements. It fosters a proactive, behavior-based safety culture among field employees including superintendents, carpenters, laborers, and masons. The Safety Manager- Self Perform will conduct regular site visits, train employees, and investigate incidents to drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities / Essential Functions Maintain company-wide safety policies and job-specific safety plans. Conduct regular jobsite visits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards. Participation at JSA review and Jobsite Gym is imperative Lead frequent trainings and meetings at the corporate/ regional and self perform level Corporate safety meetings Lead self-perform preconstruction safety meetings Trainer in Fall protection, NFPA Hot Work, First aid CPR, MEWP training, Forklift Certification, etc Perform hazard assessments and implement corrective actions to reduce risk. Investigate incidents and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and lead root cause analysis. Ensure proper use and availability of PPE and fall protection systems. Monitor subcontractors’ safety compliance and coordinate site-wide safety efforts. Work with teams to ensure completion of pre-task documentation Fall Protection Plans, Demo Plans, Silica Exposure Control Plans. Maintain safety documentation, including OSHA logs, safety meeting records, and training certifications. Coordinate with superintendents to plan for safe means and methods during high-risk activities such as scaffolding, formwork, heavy lifting, and concrete work. Stay current on local, state, and federal safety regulations. Key Skills Strong communication skills. Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities. Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize. Required Experience Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills- This is key, this role requires a strong presence. 5 years of construction safety experience, preferably with Concrete, Finish and Rough Carpentry, Masonry(carpenters, laborers, masons). Strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 construction standards. OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required; CHST or other safety certification a plus. Experience developing and implementing Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Site-Specific Safety Plans (SSSPs), and Fall Protection Plans. Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites regularly. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field. OSHA 500 Trainer and trainer capabilities for all required training topics Experience with high-risk activities such as concrete forming, scaffolding, trenching, or demolition. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
