Lead Counsel - Joint Ventures

Lead Counsel - global organisation - excellent opportunity, London hybrid working A leading global organisation is seeking a strategically minded Lead Counsel to take ownership of the legal oversight, governance, and compliance of a large, complex portfolio of post-acquisition joint ventures (JVs). The successful candidate must have substantial in-house experience managing a portfolio of JVs, particularly those where the organisation holds a minority stake. This includes responsibility for all post-acquisition legal matters such as ongoing governance, commercial contracts, disputes, compliance, and company secretarial work. The role is central to ensuring the continued success, integration, and strategic alignment of multiple international JVs across diverse jurisdictions. This is a high-impact position requiring a lawyer with a strong corporate background who has transitioned in-house and now works hands-on with JVs through their full post-acquisition lifecycle. The ideal candidate will be confident advising on complex shareholder arrangements, managing partner relationships, and resolving operational and legal challenges with a commercial, pragmatic approach. Success in this role demands resilience, adaptability, and proven experience operating at a senior level within a global business, leading or influencing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced and highly matrixed environment.
