Site Supervisor FTTX

Job Title: FTTx Site Supervisor Location: Cornwall, UK (On-site, with local travel) Contract Type: Long-term contract Travel Requirement: Approximately 90% site-based Start Date: Immediate / ASAP About the Role We are seeking an experienced FTTx Site Supervisor to oversee field deployment activities across multiple fibre rollout sites in Cornwall. This role is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of civils, cabling, splicing, and testing works, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in fibre network construction projects, with a proven track record of managing build partners, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily on-site installation and build activities in line with agreed project milestones. Review and interpret build documentation to ensure compliance with design and safety standards. Oversee Build Partners to ensure quality workmanship, adherence to specifications, and timely progress. Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and H&S risk assessments. Manage relationships with local authorities, highways agencies, and other key stakeholders. Ensure all works comply with NRSWA regulations, CDM requirements, and relevant legislation. Validate and approve changes that may impact cost, schedule, or design. Track daily progress using project tools and systems; verify and approve completed works. Ensure timely and accurate submission of as-built documentation and test results. Support the Project H&S Manager in promoting a strong safety culture and investigating incidents or enforcement actions. Monitor and track material usage, deliveries, and waste handling in compliance with environmental legislation. Support issue resolution and escalation as required to maintain project momentum. Produce daily and weekly progress reports for the Construction Manager. Participate in customer acceptance and handover activities for completed sites. Required Skills and Experience Proven experience supervising FTTx or telecoms network build projects in the UK. Strong understanding of Utility Infrastructure, SROH / HAUC regulations, and CDM requirements. Demonstrable ability to manage Build Partners and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to engage confidently with contractors and stakeholders. Proactive problem solver with strong attention to detail. Fluent in English (spoken, written, and reading). Full UK driving licence (vehicle provided as part of the role). Qualifications NRSWA Supervisor Level SSSTS or SMSTS certification SA001 (Safety Overhead) and SA002 (Safety Underground) Asbestos Awareness Highway Sector Schemes training for low and high-speed roads Sound knowledge of H&S practices for traffic management, excavations, and underground asset avoidance Desirable: Experience with Openreach PIA processes, procedures, and accreditations
