What You'll Do (Day to Day Job Duties) The CNC Swiss Lathe Programmer is responsible for interpreting a drawing and specifying the process, program and tooling required for production. Once blueprints are finalized and approved by management, the Programmer will set up the machines for production. The CNC Swiss Lathe Programmer is also responsible for leading the team of Machinists that will keep parts running without consultation to deliver low error, on-time results to the customer. Join our team of skilled Programmers—ideal candidates will have experience in industries like military, medical device manufacturing, or aerospace. Create and generate CNC programs for assigned product lines using CAD/CAM software, including macro programming when required. Interpret and apply detailed blueprint specifications, including geometric/dimensional tolerances, notes, revisions, references, and surface finish requirements. Utilize and maintain measuring/inspection equipment; perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) for newly machined parts. Machine parts from a variety of raw materials—aluminum, copper alloys, stainless steel, titanium, plastics—using optimal methods for each material. Support manufacturing with process development, tool design, machinery/equipment acquisition, and layout optimization. Maintain and follow documented procedures, including Change-over Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures. Your Impact (CORE Responsibilities) Supports Manufacturing in the areas of process development, tool design, machinery and equipment acquisition and layout of operations. Initiate improvements in CNC programming techniques to improve processing and/or part quality. Lead by example, working independently and solving problems quickly. Elevate team performance through expert cutting tool knowledge and consistent adherence to processes. Deliver high-quality, on-time parts through precise, efficient manufacturing processes. Improve inspection speed and accuracy, reducing production downtime. What You Bring (Qualifications) Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or related field, or equivalent hands-on work experience in a similar technical discipline. 5 years’ experience in production manufacturing environment. 5 years’ of programming experience on Swiss Style Lathes Advanced knowledge and experience in CAD/CAM technology and methodology either Mastercam, Cam Works, or Solidworks CAM. Expert in Mazatrol Expert in PartMaker Advanced knowledge of manufacturing methods and machine operation. Proficiency with geometric dimensioning and tolerance.
