Electronics Hardware Design Engineer

Dronus, a leading company in autonomous drone technology, is seeking an experienced Electronics Hardware Design Engineer to join our team in Trieste. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in electronic design and a strong motivation to contribute to the development of advanced technologies for cutting-edge drone applications. In this role, you will design schematics and PCB layouts for drone components, collaborating closely with internal teams (quality, purchasing, manufacturing) and external partners to deliver high-performance electronic solutions for our autonomous systems. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop electrical schematics for automated drone systems, ensuring high standards of functionality and reliability. Create and optimize PCB layouts for drone electronic components, focusing on efficiency and integration. Conduct testing and validation of electronic designs using advanced measurement instruments. Collaborate with internal teams (quality, purchasing, manufacturing) and external partners (suppliers) to ensure seamless system integration and optimal performance. Actively contribute to innovation processes and continuous improvement of technological solutions. Essential Requirements: At least 3 years of proven experience in electronic design. Strong expertise in the design and development of electrical schematics. Proficiency in using measurement instruments (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers) for design validation. Knowledge of standard communication interfaces (I²C, SPI, USB, etc.). Nice to have: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or related fields. Experience with Altium Designer for schematic and PCB layout design. Knowledge of drone-specific electronic systems, such as LiDAR, GPS, or IMU integration. Expertise in firmware development for embedded systems and microcontrollers (e.g., programming in C/C++).
