Pay Information $2,806 per week About The Position Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Hours (08:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience required License: Active Illinois license required Certifications: BLS required; CNOR and CST preferred Must-Have: - General OR and Trauma experience required - Level I trauma experience required - Required case experience in Bariatric, General Surgery, Client, Orthopedics, Plastic Surgery, Transplant, Urology, and Trauma - Required emergency management skills Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in the operating room. The selected candidate will work 10-hour shifts during the day. The role requires a minimum of 3 years of experience. Candidates must have an active Illinois license in hand or be in the application process. BLS certification is required, while CNOR and CST certifications are preferred. The nurse will float within the scope to meet facility needs, although this rarely occurs. The role includes working with all service lines except cardiovascular. Candidates are expected to have experience in various surgical cases, including laparoscopic assisted procedures, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and others. Experience in emergency management, including code response and fire safety, is necessary. The facility is a Level I trauma center and a Magnet hospital. The nurse will be responsible for administering blood products and ensuring infection control, radiation safety, and specimen handling. Each candidate should be prepared to address diverse patient needs across several age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Weekend coverage of one shift per month is required.
