Pay Information $2,136 per week About The Position Job Title: Pediatric Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS and PALS required Must-Have: - Pediatric MedSurg experience - Pediatric Step Down/Telemetry experience Description: The position is for a Pediatric Registered Nurse. The nurse will float to adult patients as needed. Shifts will be Days from 06:00 to 18:30. The unit consists of 11 rooms and 16 beds. First-timers are accepted for the role. The nurse is required to work every other weekend. The nurse will float and take adult patients as necessary. Schedule requests can be discussed with the manager. Local candidates are accepted with no radius restrictions. The candidate must have an active state license to apply or an active application with ETA. RTO restrictions ideally should be no more than 5 days. Should the client cancel more hours than permitted, the additional shifts will be billed. Experience is required in Pediatric MedSurg and Pediatric Step Down/Telemetry. Key case skills include Hyperbilirubinemia and Insulin administration. The nurse should have experience with breastfeeding support, handling of breast milk, and placement of oral or nasogastric tubes. Peripheral line care and management, as well as starting and maintaining IVs, are required. Pediatric dosage calculations are necessary skill sets. Experience in oral and nasal suctioning and oxygen delivery systems is required. Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, and wound assessment/care is mandatory. EMR experience is required. Daily patient age groups include neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The daily census ranges from 1 to 6 patients. The unit will also provide interdisciplinary support from various services, including physical therapy and respiratory services. The nurse may be required to assist with outpatient catheterization and difficult child sticks.
