Job Description Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer to support our mold repair and manufacturing operations. This position ensures that repaired molds, tooling, and production components meet customer and internal quality standards. The Quality Engineer will work closely with the repair, machining, and inspection teams to drive continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Key Responsibilities • Develop, implement, and maintain quality inspection and testing procedures for mold repair and tooling operations. • Review and approve repair documentation, inspection records, and dimensional reports. • Conduct first article inspections, in-process checks, and final verifications of molds before release. • Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for internal and customer issues. • Collaborate with engineering and production to resolve nonconformances and prevent recurrence. • Support calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments and gauges. • Participate in continuous improvement and 6S initiatives focused on reducing rework and downtime. • Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and other customer quality requirements. • Prepare and present quality metrics, reports, and trend analyses to management. • Provide technical guidance and training to team members on quality processes and standards. Qualifications • Associate's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Minimum 1 year of experience in a quality engineering role within a mold repair, tooling, or manufacturing environment. • Strong knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, CMM, surface plates, etc.). • Experience with root cause analysis tools (5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, etc.). • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems and documentation. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality data reporting software. • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Preferred Qualifications • Background in mold repair, precision machining, or die maintenance. • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). • Experience using CMM or 3D scanning for dimensional verification.
