Mechanical Design Engineer

JOB – Mechanical Design Engineer LOCATION – Newhaven TERM – Permanent SALARY – £30,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits) My client is a specialist engineering manufacturer providing bespoke mechanical products and systems. They are looking to take on an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Newhaven . The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: • 5 years’ experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or engineering environment • Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar • Strong knowledge of materials, fabrication, and manufacturing processes • Ability to produce accurate 3D models, detailed 2D drawings, and BOMs • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a team environment • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BEng, MEng, or equivalent) The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve: • Designing mechanical components and assemblies for a range of projects • Producing CAD models, technical drawings, and documentation for manufacture • Liaising with production, purchasing, and project teams to ensure design intent is achieved • Supporting prototype builds and testing activities • Developing and improving existing designs to enhance performance and manufacturability • Ensuring designs meet quality, safety, and industry standards • Working closely with customers and colleagues to deliver tailored engineering solutions If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and salary expectations.
