Mechanical Design Engineer

JOB – Mechanical Design Engineer LOCATION – Thetford TERM – Permanent SALARY – £35,000 to £45,000 per annum (plus benefits) My client is a specialist engineering company delivering bespoke machinery and mechanical systems. They are looking to take on an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in Thetford . The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes: • 5–10 years’ experience in mechanical design within manufacturing or engineering environments • Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and Revit • Experience with sheet metal design for fabrication and BIM workflows • Ability to produce accurate 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs • Engineering qualification (HNC, HND, BEng, MEng, or equivalent) • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve: • Designing mechanical components and assemblies using Inventor, AutoCAD, and Revit • Developing sheet metal designs suitable for fabrication • Producing 3D models, technical drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) • Working with BIM processes to support multi-disciplinary design projects • Collaborating with production, purchasing, and project teams to ensure manufacturability • Modifying and improving existing designs based on project requirements • Ensuring all designs comply with company and industry standards If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up-to-date CV as soon as possible, along with your availability and salary expectations.
