Qualified Technician Automotive Gearbox Company - Rustenburg

Responsibilities: Perform the full spectrum of mechanical work from diagnostics, fault-finding, and repairs to overhauls and rebuilds Conduct gearbox removal, stripping, repair, reassembly, and installation Carry out vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and road tests to ensure quality workmanship Maintain accurate job cards and service documentation Work efficiently to meet productivity and turnaround targets Ensure adherence to safety and workshop standards at all times Assist with technical problem-solving and provide support to fellow technicians Maintain a clean, organised, and professional workspace Communicate effectively with workshop management regarding progress and technical issues Requirements: Minimum 5 years experience in the motor industry as a Qualified Technician Motor Mechanic or Diesel Mechanic Trade Test (qualified artisan) Mechanical Diploma or Certificate (advantageous) Strong technical and mechanical aptitude Experience working with gearboxes, transmissions, and drivetrain systems (essential) Ability to perform diagnostics and fault-finding accurately Valid drivers licence (Code 8 or higher) Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team Motor Industry experience Essential Key Competencies: Solid mechanical and diagnostic skills High attention to detail and quality workmanship Strong problem-solving and analytical ability Professional and customer-focused attitude Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Advantages / Beneficial: Previous experience with both light and heavy-duty gearboxes Exposure to automatic and manual transmission systems Knowledge of diagnostic tools and software Please note only candidates with the required experience will be contacted and considered.
