HVAC Project Manager

Job Description Job Description Project Manager – Commercial HVAC (Mechanical) We are currently seeking a seasoned Project Manager with a strong background in commercial HVAC mechanical systems to lead and oversee projects from planning through completion. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of project management experience within the HVAC mechanical trade, ideally with exposure to healthcare, institutional, educational, or commercial direct-to-owner sectors. Key Responsibilities: Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of assigned HVAC mechanical projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to quality standards. Provide executive-level oversight and decision-making across all phases of the project lifecycle. Allocate and manage labor and material resources efficiently to support project objectives. Interpret and review construction drawings and specifications to guide project execution. Implement and monitor project-specific management procedures and controls to ensure contractual and financial compliance. Coordinate regularly with the Operations Department to assess and meet manpower requirements. Serve as the primary point of contact for general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and clients. Prepare and manage job estimates, change orders, project documentation, and billing. Provide ongoing project updates and reports to company leadership. Conduct bi-monthly on-site safety meetings and maintain a safe working environment at all times. Develop a schedule of values in alignment with the project estimate and manage monthly job billings. Actively support and participate in employee training, professional development, and trade association involvement. Maintain and update Customer Sales Logs regularly. Qualifications: Associate degree or completion of a two-year technical program preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience as a Project Manager in the HVAC mechanical trade. At least 2 years of experience in project estimating and bid preparation preferred. Required Skills: Strong technical understanding of HVAC/R systems and supporting utilities. Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and specifications. Thorough knowledge of local and industry codes relevant to HVAC/R. Proven ability to lead teams, manage resources, and drive project outcomes. Effective verbal and written communication and negotiation skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project. Strong estimating skills and understanding of project scheduling. Hands-on knowledge of HVAC-specific trades including pipefitting, ductwork, and mechanical systems. Preferred Experience: Experience managing projects in one or more of the following sectors: Healthcare, Institutional, Educational, or Commercial Direct-to-Owner.
