The Role As Despatch Team Leader, you’ll play a key role within the Warehousing & Logistics Team, supporting the Warehouse Supervisor and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant handling, storage, and movement of materials across the company’s facilities. This is a hands-on, varied position where you will be involved in all aspects of warehouse operations, including lifting, loading/unloading, stock control, and supporting wider logistics activities. Key Responsibilities * Support the Warehouse Supervisor in the daily operation of warehouse activities, maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. * Supervise and coordinate warehouse tasks, ensuring compliance with company and client standards. * Handle, store, and transport materials safely and efficiently. * Carry out daily equipment checks and complete inspection documentation. * Maintain stock control systems and assist with dispatch and delivery documentation. * Operate forklifts and other plant equipment safely and professionally. * Support lifting and logistics operations, including plant movement and material preparation. * Maintain clear communication with Supervisors, Management, and Clients. * Promote a positive, safe, and team-focused working environment. * Complete management reports, maintenance logs, and documentation as required. Requirements * Previous warehouse or logistics experience within an industrial environment (essential). * Leadership capabilities with the ability to support and coordinate team members. * Counterbalance Forklift Truck Licence (essential). * Good communication and organisational skills. * Proactive, motivated, and flexible approach to work. * Strong awareness of health and safety standards. * Physically capable of carrying out manual handling duties. * Able to work both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge, Skills & Experience * Understanding of LOLER, PUWER, and general HSE legislation. * Knowledge of warehouse systems, stock control, and documentation. * Experience supporting HGV and logistics operations (advantageous). * IT literate with ability to complete reports and logs accurately. * Willingness to undertake additional training (e.g. First Aid, Fire Warden, Banksman, or Rigger).
