About the role: Are you passionate about mining, technology, and making a real impact underground? Orica is seeking a Blasting Technician to join our dynamic team supporting underground operations across the WAM region. This is a hands-on, field-based role with a strong focus on electronic blasting systems (EBS) , particularly i-kon , and offers the chance to work on cutting-edge blasting projects. What you will be doing: Provide on-site technical support for underground blasting operations Set up and troubleshoot remote firing systems and EBS (i-kon) Assist in blast design, execution, and misfire investigations Support trials of new blasting products and technologies Deliver training and mentoring to customers and internal teams What you will bring: Essential: Basic knowledge of explosives and underground mining processes Experience with drill and blast design principles Strong problem-solving and communication skills Willingness to travel and work on-site Preferred: Trade qualification or equivalent in blasting, mining, or engineering 3–5 years of underground blasting experience Experience with i-kon systems and remote firing setups Shotfiring licence and Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain) What we offer As part of a truly global company, you will have the ability to grow and learn in a diverse, collaborative culture.
