Storeman – Food Industry Role responsibility · Ensure safe receipt of all incoming food and non-food products whilst checking quantity, quality, temperature control, shelf life etc. · Inspect deliveries to ensure quality, temperature control, and quantity match the order. · Loading and unloading vehicles (including lots of lifting). · Ensure all goods are promptly and securely stored. · Undertake accurate stock checks, organise and securely store all received goods in their proper locations. · Issue goods and supplies to the kitchen and bar as requested by the staff. · Assist with the breakdown of events and general cleanliness of the storage and kitchen areas. · Monitor and manage costs by controlling portion sizes, storage methods, and minimizing waste · Ensure stock rotation is adhered to. · Setting up for events. · Complete administration Maintenance and cleanliness: · Ensure all storage, delivery, and work areas are kept clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety policies. · Handle the removal of food waste and rubbish to designated areas · Undertake deliveries from the store around the site. Cross-functional duties: · Provide support to the kitchen and catering teams with basic food preparation or setup tasks as needed. · Assist with tasks such as polishing cutlery, stocking service stations, or setting up for events. Required skills and qualifications · Previous experience in a stores, warehousing, or food service environment. · 3 -5 years’ experience with stock control, inventory management, and ordering. · Excellent organizational and time-management skills with a methodical approach. · Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with kitchen, bar, and management staff. · Basic computer literacy for inventory management systems. · Reliable, well-presented, and able to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. · The physical ability to lift heavy packages and stand for extended periods. · Effective communicator at all levels. · Reliable and well presented. · Methodical and thorough. Willingness to adopt a flexible approach
