Lodge-Based Role: Lodge Manager Vacancy Location: Private Big 5 Game Reserve, Eastern Cape (approx. 45 minutes from Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth) Type of Property: Exclusive 5-Star Safari Lodge Salary: R30,000 per month (negotiable, DOE) Accommodation: Complimentary on-site accommodation provided Couples: This role may be considered for a management couple where the partner is a Head Guide or Head Chef with relevant luxury lodge experience Role Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Lodge Manager to join a luxury 5-star safari lodge in the Eastern Cape. This leadership role requires a guest-centric, operationally strong individual (or couple) with proven success managing all aspects of lodge operations, ensuring impeccable service delivery and a seamless guest experience. The Lodge Manager will be responsible for leading and motivating the team, overseeing Food & Beverage and Service, maintaining strong guest relations, and ensuring smooth daily operations across all departments. Key Responsibilities Lead daily lodge operations with a strong focus on guest experience and service excellence Ensure seamless coordination across all departments including F&B, housekeeping, guest relations, guiding, and maintenance Drive Food & Beverage operations , with oversight of menu execution, wine service, costings, and overall presentation standards Develop, mentor, and motivate staff to deliver 5-star service, ensuring training and SOP compliance Manage reservations, guest communications, and hosting duties, ensuring a personal and memorable experience for every guest Uphold brand standards and ensure property presentation is always to luxury standards Oversee stock control, budgets, and cost management, ensuring financial sustainability Handle guest feedback and resolve challenges with professionalism and care Work closely with ownership and senior management to deliver on operational and financial objectives Requirements & Qualifications Minimum 5 years’ management experience in a 5-star safari lodge or luxury hospitality property Strong operational knowledge, with a focus on Food & Beverage and guest services Excellent guest relations and hosting skills with a warm, approachable manner Proven ability to lead and motivate staff across multiple departments Strong organisational, financial, and administrative abilities Computer literacy (MS Office, reservations/stock systems advantageous) Passion for hospitality, detail-orientated, and hands-on approach Ability to work in a remote environment and thrive in a team culture Valid driver’s license and own transport Package & Benefits Salary: R30,000 per month (negotiable DOE) Complimentary live-in accommodation provided Meals on duty Professional growth within a well-regarded lodge group Opportunity to live and work in a prestigious Big 5 reserve environment TO APPLY: Submit your CV, contactable references, and a recent head & shoulders photograph ASAP!
