Pastry Chef

PAUL RESTAURANT - CANAL WALK BRANCH is looking for a PASTRY Chef . Their main duties include following recipes to create pastries and other baked food items. Pastry Chef Skills and Responsibilities Operate and manage the Pastry Section of the kitchen, working together with other chefs Prepare a variety of Baked products following the PAUL Recipes and Standards Decorate and present pastries and baked goods as per the PAUL Standards Monitor and Order ingredients Ensure the Pastry section of the kitchen adheres to healthy and safety regulations Follow all relevant food and safety guidelines Inventory Management Taking daily measures to prevent food cross-contamination. Responsible for controlling food wastage, without compromising food quality. Ensure all the kitchen records are maintained properly at all the time. Ensure prompt, courteous and accurate service to all customers to achieve high level of guest satisfaction. Ensure that preparations, cooking methods, portioning and presentation are accurate and according to the PAUL Standards Ensure that all food items are cooked to the appropriate temperatures and served in a timely manner Monitor Food inventory and place orders as needed to maintain adequate stock levels Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure that all food items are prepared and served according to established standards Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling Assist with cleaning and maintenance tasks in the Pastry Section as needed Requirements and Qualifications Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately Excellent Communication and Teamwork skills Prior experience as a Pastry Chef or in Baker role Physical stamina to stand for long hours and lift heavy objects Culinary Certification is an added advantage Matriculant Well Disciplined Flexible Own Transport
