Industrial Hygienist

Job Description Job Description POSITION OVERVIEW: Reporting to the Safety Superintendent, the Industrial Hygienist is responsible for performing industrial hygiene activities and supporting site operations through anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control of occupational health hazards. RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement, evaluate, and maintain IH standards, policies, and programs. Conduct health surveys and develop sampling plans for all work areas. Maintain records, develop reports, and engage stakeholders in all matters related to IH in order to control potential occupational health hazards. Serve as a resource on IH related topics and respond appropriately to concerns where there may be health issues. Collect samples in accordance with acceptable IH best practices. Coordinate with external laboratories for sample analysis post collection. Accurately calculate time-weighted average exposures and determine compliance to regulatory requirements. Conduct training on IH related topics. Lead and mentor a technician. On-call schedule responsibilities. Must be available and ready to respond to urgent issues or incidents outside of regular work hours, ensuring business continuity and timely resolution of problems. Any other job duties that may be required. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene or a related field, required. 3 years of related experience in a mining environment, preferred. Advanced knowledge of IH concepts and theories, preferred. Advanced knowledge of Mine Safety and Health Administration health regulations, preferred. Advanced knowledge of 30 CFR Part 60, Respirable Crystalline Silica, preferred. Advanced proficiency level with Microsoft Office Suite, preferred. Have a valid driver's license . Required. Strong analytical ability with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, required.
