Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg / Telemetry Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/01/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – MS/Tele | Columbus, OH Pay Package: Total Hourly Pay Rate: $63.50/hr Taxable (W2): $18.00/hr Non-Taxable Stipend: $45.50/hr Weekly Gross: $2,286/week W2 (Taxable): $648/week Stipend (Non-Taxable): $1,638/week Hours per Week: 36 Shifts: AM / PM (3x12-Hour) Position Overview Join the James Cancer Hospital and Research Institute as a Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN caring for oncology and hematology patients. The unit manages all solid tumor cancer cases, from diagnosis through treatment and end-of-life care. This is a 13-week travel contract with self-scheduling flexibility and a supportive multidisciplinary team. Requirements Experience: Minimum 2 years of Med Surg or Telemetry RN experience (Oncology preferred but not required) License: Active OH or Compact RN License (required at submission) Certifications: BLS (required); ONS Chemo certification preferred Charting System: EPIC (required) Travel Experience: Preferred but not mandatory Skills & Responsibilities Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies Care for oncology patients receiving chemotherapy or radiation treatment Manage central lines and tracheostomy care Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care Float to other Med Surg Oncology units as needed Unit & Facility Details Unit: 17 East/West – Medical Oncology & Benign Hematology Bed Count: 36 Ratios: 1:4 (goal) – may flex to 1:5 Orientation: 72 hours (first week day shift, second week with preceptor) Float: Required to similar Oncology units Common Diagnoses: Breast, Lung, Prostate, Colon, Pancreatic, and Esophageal cancers Job Highlights Assignment Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: December 1, 2025 Schedule: Nights (3x12s) – AM/PM flexibility Self-Scheduling: Yes First Week Orientation: Monday–Friday (Day Shift) Travelers: Oncology experience preferred but first-time travelers welcome Compliance & Notes Fingerprinting: Required prior to start (must complete promptly upon offer) Locals: Accepted at same rate References: Two professional references (one supervisor or manager required) RTO: Must be included with submission Return Staff Policy: Must be away for 6 months before returning as a traveler About HonorVet Technologies HonorVet Technologies: Pioneering Purpose, Empowering Heroes Founded in 2015, HonorVet Technologies stands as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) , proudly certified by NaVOBA and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs .
