Commercial Accountant

A new opportunity for a Commercial Accountant to join a growing organisation, working closely with both internal stakeholders and high-profile retail customers. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and enjoys turning data into meaningful insights to drive performance. The Role: Reporting into Finance but working just as closely with Sales and Operations, this is a highly visible position that plays a central role in improving margins and supporting business growth. You will be responsible for: Partnering with blue-chip customers (including leading supermarkets and online retailers) to understand their commercial requirements and finance models. Collaborating with operations and sales teams to analyse performance, identify opportunities, and provide insightful commentary. Building and adapting Excel-based models to reflect changing business needs and contract requirements. Feeding commercial insights into the management accounts team to highlight financial impacts and improve decision-making. Providing clear communication and professional gravitas when engaging with senior stakeholders such as Operations Directors, Sales Directors, and National Account Managers. Candidate Profile: Qualified by experience (QBE) , part qualified or professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA). Strong Excel and data modelling skills, with the ability to translate analysis into actionable insights. Proven experience of stakeholder management. Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence and challenge at all levels. Excellent communicator able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders and build strong relationships across departments. Relaxed, approachable, and confident, with the ability to adapt to ambiguity and manage peaks and troughs of activity.
