Construction (Entry Level) Tutor

Location: Reading Job Title: Construction (Entry Level) Tutor Pay and working hours: Per hour: £25-35,000 Working hours: 37.5 per week Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver hands-on, engaging Construction sessions that help young people explore creative techniques, build portfolios, and develop skills that matter Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learners at different levels of confidence and ability Collaborate with your team on scheme of work and lesson planning Encourage attendance, routine, and personal accountability in learners Support the development of learners functional skills in Maths and English as part of their wider learning journey Keep accurate records of progress, behaviour, and engagement Use a trauma-informed, relational approach to behaviour management, helping learners feel safe, respected and understood Reflect on your own practice and contribute to team development and training Work alongside support services, parents/carers and external agencies where relevant to promote learner success What Were Looking For: Ideally a Level 3 Award in Education & Training and preferably a Certificate of Higher Education, but training can be provided to the right candidate without these qualifications. Experience in education, including Scheme of Work and Lesson Plan development. Strong conflict management and resolution skills. Excellent communication skills to inspire and motivate young people. Empathy and understanding for young people, with alignment to New Meaning Trainings values. A passion for helping learners achieve their goals through adaptability and initiative in tailoring learning styles and activities. An understanding of or willingness to learn about current social issues (e.g., County Lines, the impact of COVID on mental health).
