Assistant site manager

We are recruiting for an Assistant Site Manager to join a busy retail contractor delivering projects across the UK. Specialising in new build and fit out works for a leading national retailer, the company has a strong pipeline of work and an excellent reputation for delivering on time and to high quality standards. The Project This role is based in Wantage, working on a new retail unit with a handover date in December 2025. You will be supporting the Site Manager in day-to-day site operations, ensuring the smooth running of the project through to completion. Responsibilities * Assisting the Site Manager in overseeing site activities. * Supervising subcontractors and trades on site. * Monitoring site safety, inductions, and toolbox talks. * Supporting with progress reporting and record keeping. * Ensuring works are carried out to the required quality standards. Requirements * SMSTS, CSCS & First Aid – essential. * Previous experience in retail fit out or new build projects. * Strong organisational and communication skills. * Ability to work effectively within a team and take responsibility when needed.
