Associate Project Manager

Our client, a rapidly growing construction materials firm in Surrey, BC, is expanding its Division 8/10 (Doors & Hardware) operations and is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support delivery of door, frame, and hardware packages and grow into a Project Manager role within 6–12 months. Key Responsibilities: Support day-to-day delivery of doors, frames, and hardware packages with a focus on quality, schedule, and cost. Assist with takeoffs, submittals, hardware schedules, shop drawings, and closeout documentation. Coordinate POs, deliveries, site access, installations, and deficiency tracking. Maintain project trackers, RFI logs, change orders, and documentation control. Communicate proactively with vendors, site teams, and general contractors to resolve issues. Interpret specifications, door schedules, and architectural drawings. Learn and apply relevant standards and codes (e.g., NFPA 80, IBC, accessibility requirements). Progress to independently managing small-to-mid-sized projects. Ideal Candidate Requirements: 1–3 years in construction project coordination, estimating, or related role; Division 8/10 experience preferred. Familiarity with door and hardware systems; hands-on experience with AVAware or similar software is a strong asset. Proficiency with Excel and common PM tools (SharePoint, Procore, Autodesk, Outlook). Strong organization, attention to detail, and documentation skills. Clear written and verbal communicator with a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Ability to read drawings/specifications and handle RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
