Payroll Specialist

Location: Azcapotzalco Office, Mexico City Work Modality: On-site Employment Type: Full-time Level: Experienced Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist to manage and execute payroll processes in compliance with Mexican labor regulations. The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in payroll operations, a strong understanding of the Ley Federal del Trabajo (LFT) , and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion. This role requires close collaboration with HR and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely payroll execution. Key Responsibilities Process payroll for employees in accordance with Mexican labor laws and internal policies. Ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, social security, and other deductions. Maintain and update payroll records and employee data in payroll systems. Review and validate documentation for new hires, terminations, and compensation changes. Prepare and submit government-mandated reports (e.g., IMSS, INFONAVIT, SAT). Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and benefits. Support internal and external audits related to payroll. Collaborate with HR to ensure proper onboarding and offboarding documentation. Monitor compliance with the LFT and other applicable regulations. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum 4 years of experience in payroll processing in Mexico. Solid understanding of the Ley Federal del Trabajo (LFT) and payroll-related obligations. Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (B2 or higher). Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Experience with payroll systems such as SAP, Workday, or similar. Familiarity with employee benefits administration and compensation structures. Knowledge of tax reporting and year-end payroll processes. Certification in payroll or HR administration is a plus.
