Job Description

ACCOUNTING MANAGER / CONTROLLER - Construction Company Successful small business subcontractor (less than 50 employees). Fast-paced office with good team chemistry. Direct and oversee the Company's accrual accounting system (Quickbooks desktop), job files, insurance coverages, HR, etc. Provide for timely completion of all work. Oversee and train small accounting staff and qualified temps. Interface with company's internal staff and external CPA. Some essential duties and responsibilities include: *Oversee the activities of the accounting department for the accurate dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly and annual financial statements, and interfacing with CPA regarding the annual tax returns. *Responsible for accurate and timely processing of all Quickbooks related information and documents, including A/P, A/R, Payroll (checks and reports), Job Costing, etc. *Produce timely construction billings and associated documents (20 day prelims, lien releases, etc). *Provide cash flow report to ownership each month. *Interface with insurance companies, and purchase and maintain worker's comp, general liability, auto, health insurance policies. *Handle HR responsibilities, including overseeing company 401K plan, health insurance matters, employee benefits, etc. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, minimum 5 years experience.
