Senior HVAC Engineer

Key Responsibilities: Independently design, dimension, and optimise HVAC installations for commercial and industrial buildings. Prepare technical specifications, select components, and monitor quality standards. Manage and guide modelers and junior engineers within your project team. Collaborate with project managers, work planners, and other engineers in multidisciplinary teams. Advise clients and stakeholders on energy-efficient and sustainable installation technologies. Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., NEN, ISO). Requirements: Completed vocational or higher professional qualification in mechanical engineering, installation technology, or similar. This may include: HIT (Hoger Installatietechniek): Higher vocational education focusing on advanced building installations and engineering. South African equivalent: BTech Mechanical Engineering, NDip in Building Services or HVAC. MIT (Middenkader Installatietechniek): Mid-level technical qualification focusing on practical building installation skills and project coordination. South African equivalent: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering / Building Services, or EngTech registration through ECSA. TVVL (Technische Vereniging voor Verwarming, Ventilatie en Luchtbehandeling): Professional association providing HVAC training, certification, and knowledge of industry standards. South African equivalent: SAHVAC or CIBSE South Africa. At least 5 years relevant experience as an HVAC engineer in building-related installations and multidisciplinary projects. Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, energy-saving techniques, and relevant standards (NEN, ISO). Experience with design and calculation software such as VABI or Revit. Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Excellent communication skills in Afrikaans (Native) and English (spoken and written). Enthusiastic, proactive, and committed to personal and professional growth.
